Helping you to transform your

life, one belief at a time.....

Level 1 - The Emotion Code®

“Negative emotions are never going to be pleasant, but they can all be useful, it’s all about our perception of them!”

This quote by Dr Bradley Nelson creator of the Emotion Code suggests that negative emotions can serve a purpose and it is our perception of these emotions that determines their usefulness. For instance, fear can alert us to danger, sadness can lead to introspection, and anger can motivate change. Ultimately, our perception and response to these emotions shape their impact on our lives. Acknowledging and understanding them allows us to navigate our emotional landscape more effectively.

If so, you may have Trapped Emotions...

What is an Emotion?

From an energetic perspective, everything in the universe is made of vibration, and emotions are no exception. Modern physics demonstrates that energies can influence one another. The human body is also an energetic system; we are naturally affected by the vibrational quality of our emotional states.

Emotions, both pleasant and unpleasant, are complex states involving a wide range of physiological and psychological processes simultaneously, including:

The Psychological Aspects of Emotion:

  • Cognition: Our thoughts and perceptions are shaped by our emotions. When we feel safe or uplifted, our thinking becomes more open and optimistic. When we feel threatened or overwhelmed, our thoughts narrow and become more protective.

  • Behavioural Responses: Our emotions drive specific behaviours, with fear often prompting avoidant behaviour.

  • Attention: Our emotional state guides our focus. When we are afraid, we concentrate on potential threats and when we are happy, we notice the positive aspects of our surroundings.

  • Memory: The emotional state we experience during an event strongly influences how we encode and retrieve memories related to that experience. Intense emotions tend to make memories more vivid and long‑lasting.

The Physiological Aspects of Emotion:

  • Muscle Tension: When we encounter fear or stress, the body releases adrenaline, activating the sympathetic nervous system. This results in increased muscle tension, preparing the body for action.

  • Hormone Release: Different emotional states are supported by different biochemical patterns. Cortisol tends to rise during stress, dopamine increases during motivation and reward, and oxytocin is released during moments of connection and trust.

  • Cardiovascular Changes: Our emotional state impacts our heart rate, blood pressure, and blood flow.

  • Facial Expression: Our emotions are expressed through micro‑movements in the face, often before we consciously register them.

  • Autonomic Responses: These involuntary changes include sweating, blushing, and goosebumps.

What happens when we experience an emotion?

Vibration

Vibration - The body generates the emotional vibration based on two factors: what we are experiencing in the moment and information stored in the body and mind from past experiences.

Thoughts

Thoughts & Sensations - We feel the emotion alongside any accompanying thoughts or physical sensations.

Processing

Processing - The emotion moves through the body and naturally releases, usually within seconds to minutes.

When this process completes, we have successfully moved on from the emotional experience and it does not leave residue.

If Step 2 or Step 3 is interrupted through overwhelm, suppression, trauma, or lack of safety, the emotional energy may remain unprocessed. This is often described as a trapped emotion: a vibration stored in the body that continues to influence thoughts, behaviours, and well-being.

What is a Trapped Emotion?

Dr Bradley Nelson, creator of the Emotion Code® at Discover Healing describes "What is a Trapped Emotion?"

The Emotion Code® is an energy healing technique that focuses on identifying and releasing trapped emotions. Even if an individual has physically moved on from a past event involving intense emotions, the negative energy associated with those emotions can become stuck in the body, distorting the energy field.

When emotions are suppressed or unprocessed, they can cause you to make the wrong assumptions, overreact to innocent remarks and misinterpret behaviour. Despite the extent of one's suffering, trapped emotions often go undiagnosed by conventional medicine, even though they can significantly interfere with the body's normal functioning, resulting in physical and emotional discomfort.

Releasing these trapped emotions brings the body back into balance, making conditions right for the body to heal itself, leading to changes in the choices made, the feelings, behaviours and results achieved.

Emotion Code explanation and Demonstration by Dr Bradley Nelson

Below is a Emotion Code explanation and demonstration by Dr Bradley Nelson so you can see how the process works.

The Emotion Code Process and Chart

  • Communication with the Subconscious: I use the Sway Test, a form of applied kinesiology muscle testing, which allows me to interpret subtle physical responses (biofeedback) from the body. By asking YES or NO questions, I can gain insights from the subconscious about trapped emotions that may need to be cleared.

  • Using the Emotion Code Chart: The Emotion Code Chart is a valuable tool for identifying which emotions have become trapped. The chart includes a list of commonly found emotions, which are organised in columns and rows. Each listed emotion represents a remnant of vibrating energy that may have become lodged anywhere in your body, potentially distorting your energy field.

  • Identifying Trapped Emotions: Each trapped emotion must be identified and released individually. Although some emotions may be connected, they cannot be released as a group. Your body knows exactly how many trapped emotions it can release in a session and the order in which they should be released.

  • Releasing Trapped Emotions: You must use another form of energy to release a trapped emotion.

I use a magnet to magnify the power of my Intention (thought energy) by directing it through the Governing Meridian, allowing it to enter the body's energy field. This process is similar to the technique called phase cancellation used in noise-cancelling headphones, where two or more audio waveforms interfere with each other, resulting in destructive interference.
